Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And, today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit for a towed vehicle on a 2022 Ford Maverick. Now there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required to flat tow your vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side is gonna be your base plate. And the base plate is generally attached to the chassis of the vehicle, or the structural parts of it, to create a nice, sturdy mounting point for your tow bar. And so that brings us to the tow bar, which is our second component. more

Installation -Roadmaster Fuse Bypass Switch - 2020 Chevrolet Sonic- Video

Hi there Chevy owners. Today in our 2020 Chevy Sonic, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's fuse bypass kits. We're gonna be using a double fuse harness as well as two single harnesses to disconnect all the fuses required on our Sonic today. These fuse bypass kits will allow you to quickly remove the fuses from your vehicle with a simple press of a button. Oftentimes your vehicles require fuses to be pulled when placed into flat-tow mode to prevent the battery from draining and to ensure it's in a safe state where you can pull it without causing any damage to the vehicle. To prevent you from having to open the hood and pull out a fuse and some of the fuses are pretty small, you need a little like a pair of needle-nose pliers or a fuse puller to be able to get 'em out. more

Demco 4-Diode Universal Towed Vehicle Wiring Kit Installation - 2021 Ford Ranger- Video

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Diode Wiring on a 2021 Ford Ranger. Now when it comes to flat towing a vehicle, you need to make sure that you have your lights on the towed vehicle to let the people behind you know and many times you'll see magnetic lights or ones that you just kind of stick on. Well, the great part about diode wiring is, once you have it installed in your factory wires here, you're still gonna retain all your normal light functions but it's actually gonna mimic it based off the RV and that's done via the umbilical. So once the diodes are installed all you have to do is hook up the included umbilical here from our seven to six pole and that's gonna transmit all of our turning, running lights as well as our brake lights to keep you safe and legal. Now this is available in a bunch of different options based on your needs. So if your tow bar doesn't have an umbilical, you can actually pick it up with a coiled cable or a straight cable. Also, you can pick up the wiring bundle without any connectors, or some of them actually have the 4 pole on the front. It's kind of up to you, what you wanna choose. Now there's five main components that are required when flat towing a vehicle and the first one we'll start off with is the base plate and that's gonna actually attach to the vehicle via the bumper mounts or the chassis and it's gonna be a secure mount for us to be able to attach our tow bar and the tow bar is gonna be the second component and that's gonna make the connection point between your base plate and the actual towing of the RV. more

Our Smart Diode Wiring kit is gonna take the lighting signals from our motor home and transfer them here to the back of our vehicle so that the people behind us will know our intentions when we're flat towing our vehicle down the road. You can see that the hazard lights I've got them turned on in our motor home and as it flashes there, it also flashes here in the back and mimics the signal. Now it is gonna be a little bit different than your natural lighting when you're driving the vehicle around. The Jeep here, if it has the park sense, which we do have park sense on this Jeep here. It's required to have the smart diode kit instead of a regular diode kit. more

So a fuse bypass is gonna be installed in individual circuits there in the fuse box of our vehicle. And it's gonna cut power to those circuits at the flick of a switch. And the reason we need this we're flat towing our vehicle because according to the owner's manual, we have to disconnect two fuses, while the vehicles in tow. That's gonna be fuse number 29 and fuse number 32. Now there's two fuses control, the body control module and those activate the lights, the locks, all the electronics in your vehicle. more

So the fuse bypass or quick disconnect, whatever you wanna refer to it as, it's the same thing. It's not necessarily required for your flat tow setup, but it is one of those convenience items that is gonna make things that much more easier. So for this particular vehicle here, it is required that we disconnect a fuse while towing. It does vary a little bit, depending on which model you have, whether you have the four cylinder model or the six cylinder model. Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2006 Mini Cooper, and I want to walk you through how to install Roadmasters LED bulb and socket kit. Bulb and socket kit, or the LED light kit, is gonna be designed to transfer light signals back to the back of your vehicle when it's being flat towed. The difference between diode kits and your bulb and socket is, diode kits are designed to tie into factory wiring, where the bulb and socket requires you to drill a hole into the light, and then use the separate bulb. That way it doesn't affect or interfere with any wiring on the vehicle itself. Now with the Mini Cooper, it actually, the wires cannot be tied into so you can't use a diode kit. more
